The Southern Arizona TIC program is just past the half-way point, and all the schools still have trout in their tanks. I count this as a success. Santa Rita (Josh Ruddick) has the most at 20 or so (often difficult to get an exact count as they don’t hold still for long) and Robert Bracker and Tully have the least. Students in all the classrooms are now doing all the water chemistry testing, record keeping, feeding, and other routine daily and weekly chores. The 2017-18 program will wrap up in mid-May when school recesses for the summer. I am hopeful that there will be at least one new school next year, either in Sierra Vista or in Continental, just south of Green Valley. As always, volunteer help is always appreciated.
